Hello everybody, here is the Norse Mythology Quiz that was administered on 1/26.

Since we need work on the humanities, next week, we’ll have a quiz on the first 25 works of literature in this list: You’ve probably read or heard most of them, but in addition to knowing the author, you should be able to briefly summarize the work.

Thanks to a friend from Bellarmine, here is a great resource for practicing the frequency lists! Check out Quizlet for more ways to practice reviewing important topics.

Hi everybody,

Here is the expanded/extended version of the Mathematicians + Sculptors Quiz administered on 1/19. The first page contains 18 in-depth questions that pretty much cover all of the entire NAQT mathematicians list, and 10 questions about the sculptors.

Next week we’ll have a quiz on Norse mythology (a surprisingly common topic in QB), so get ready!

Hi everyone,

First of all, we had the biggest QB meeting (ever?) today!!!!

1. Don’t forget to study mathematicians for next week (and more candy :)

2. Look at the following tournaments and let both me and Mr. Stoll know if you can make it. Check your email, as we may be going to other upcoming tournaments at Stanford, Berkeley, and Bellarmine!

Friday, January 28th through Monday, January 31st 43rd Millard Fillmore Hunt. Held at Woodside High School. Must have AT LEAST 5-10 students. (Non-QB members are OK as well) More information here:
February 12th, 2011 National History Bowl Tournament at UC Berkeley. More like Quiz Kids format than Quiz Bowl, but more information here:
TBD – Some Saturday in the spring Bay Area Puzzle Hunt, Stanford University. Also aiming at around a 10-member team; should be similar to the Millard Fillmore hunt. Examples online here: and more information attached (FAQ.doc)

Our next meeting is on 1/19 in Mr. Stoll’s room. There will be a 20-question quiz on both mathematicians and famous sculptors (, so study those!
